ANA Junior Inspiration Grant

Malia Nam participated in the ANA Junior Inspiration, March 23-26 at Mission Hills Country Club, Rancho Mirage, CA. Malia was one (1) of eleven (11) participants selected to receive a grant of $5,000.00 to be awarded to the charity of her choice. Malia chose the HSJGA!   “I would like Hawaii State Junior Golf Association to be the grant recipient. I choose HSJGA to receive this grant because not only have they given me numerous opportunities as a junior golfer, it will do the same for the future junior golfers in Hawaii. Through HSJGA, I have made lifelong friends and valuable experiences. They offer team events and help with qualifiers to play notable tournaments in the mainland. With the help of Mary Bea Porter-King, Hawaii golfers are being noticed more and more. Her mission is raise junior golfers with integrity and respect, then send them off to a college with a privilege of having a golf scholarship. I cannot thank Hawaii State Junior Golf Association enough for everything they have done for me. HSJGA provided the path for me to receive a golf scholarship for the University of Southern California.” ~Malia Nam   The HSJGA will use the grant money for 2017 USGA Championship travel expenses for all HSJGA members who qualify in Hawaii. Stay tuned for more information. Thank you, Malia!
